How Doopys Began
I first discovered bubble tea during a holiday in Miami. We passed a tiny stand with a huge line—so of course, I had to try it. One sip, and I was in love. Not just with the taste, but with the fun, colorful vibe that came with it.
At the time, I was working in administration. I had a stable job, but deep down I knew I wanted something else—something creative, something mine. I already had a small cocktail business for weddings, so I knew how to mix flavors and make people smile. But bubble tea felt different. It felt like me.
That idea kept following me—from Miami to New York, where bubble tea shops were everywhere. When I got back to Spain, I knew it was now or never. On December 31st, 2018, I handed in my resignation and started building what would become Doopys.
We found a location in Gandía, created our menu from scratch, and tested supplier after supplier until we found the one: Possmei—authentic, high-quality ingredients straight from Taiwan 🇹🇼. Because we didn’t want to offer something average. We wanted to offer the real deal.
There were setbacks—personal and professional—but in July 2019, Doopys opened its doors. Just months later, the pandemic hit. But because we were already focused on take-away, we kept going. A year later, we opened our second shop by the beach. And we’re still growing.
My Mission with Doopys
I didn’t start Doopys just to sell drinks. I started it because I believe in joy, in creativity, and in second chances.
I want Doopys to be a franchise where people without experience can start fresh, build something of their own, and change their lives.
For me, entrepreneurship isn’t about working set hours—it’s about giving your all, treating every customer with care, and creating something that makes people happy.
And if one cup of bubble tea can make someone’s day just a little brighter—
then everything we do is worth it.
